Education
I attended a medical academy for high school and graduated in the top 1% of my class. I went to UNC-Chapel Hill after that where I majored in Religious Studies and Archaeology and continued to take biochemistry and microbiology classes for electives.
Experience
I worked as a private tutor all through high school and college. After I graduated, I joined AmeriCorps where I worked as an assistant teacher in kindergarten-5th grade classrooms and ran an after-school program. I also worked for a Title 1 literacy program. I currently work at a different after-school program that has a very strong focus on academics. I have attended classes on a very wide variety of topics--literacy/math coaching, ADHD, alternative/creative teaching methods. I enjoy working as a tutor and find it to be very rewarding work.
